Weekly Wants

As fall semester quickly approaches and all the new merchandise is put out on the floors, online shopping will take its toll. My wants for the week vary from the new september issues hitting the shelves, booties, and skinny mojito recipes to close out the summer right!

On My List

I love this shoe because the metal heel adds a unique flare on a classic. There have been a lot of pointy-toe pumps in stores lately and the metal heel on this pair sets them apart. The best thing about these heels is they can make any outfit seem feminine. Miranda Kerr is often seen matching pointy-toe pumps  with casual or cuffed denim, making the outfit seem more feminine. In a neutral color these heels will match with most outfits, perfect to dress up a day look to wear at night.

Game Day

College football season is right around the corner, so naturally anything garnet and gold will be snatched off the shelf. In the Florida heat, maxi dresses are always an easy find to pair with a feather or headband accessory.

White Party

There are few things in life better than being surrounded by people you love (heard that before?). This weekend was my brother's wedding. Nothing has brought better times than being surrounded by friends and family I have not seen in years, truly. The wedding weekend consisted of many events including a themed "White Party" the first night, Rehearsal Dinner the next, and lastly wedding day. The white party was outside at a friend of the bride's home. It was equipped with blended piña coladas and margaritas, along with greek food. The rehearsal dinner took place at a Maggiano's restaurant with great Italian food, and the wedding took off at a Methodist church and the reception in the hotel where all the guests were. After a lot of laughter, drinking, and memories - congrats to the bride & groom!

Things You Ignore

There are always going to be things - like rolling through a stop sign, ignoring your diet on vacation, or clothes in your closet - that you ignore. I propose a small challenge. See if you can organize your closet, whether it's by tops or a mix of all types, and wear everything in order until you run out. There are many pieces in my closet that I ignore until trying it on one random day and remember it's fit, then why I purchased it in the first place. Not only does this justify your purchases, but will help your daily style diversify by getting away from your go-to pieces.

Be Colorful

Earlier this year while visiting a local botanical garden in my hometown my grandfather told me something that stuck. When looking at all the beautiful flowers and plants throughout the gardens, one can't help but awe at all the amazing color. I brought a camera with me and was taking pictures of everything that caught my eye. Then he said something to me said that made me reevaluate my view on color. He said "Mother Nature never makes mistakes." As I took in each palette, I realized how many color trends and inspirations you can gather just from stepping outside. It's hard to figure what bright colors to pair with what and what better way to pull inspiration but from flowers in your front yard? A neutral wardrobe is safe and budget conscious because items can be worn multiple times and ways. But it's exactly how it sounds, neutral. Be colorful.
